The Pacific Science Center first started as the United States Science Pavilion during the 1962 World's Fair. It was designed by Minoru Yamasaki, who also designed the former World Trade Center towers in New York. It is home to one of the largest Laser Dome theaters in the world.

KeyArena is the former home of the Seattle Thunderbirds of the Western Hockey League and Seattle SuperSonics of the NBA; it is currently home to the Seattle Storm of the WNBA and Seattle Redhawks of NCAA basketball. It was built for the 1962 World's Fair and located near to another icon from the event, the Space Needle. It was heavily renovated between 1994 and 1995.

The Experience Music Project and Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame is part of the Seattle Center entertainment complex, adjacent to the Space Needle, and was opened in 2000. It was originally founded by Paul Allen, co-founder of Microsoft, and is the site of the annual Science Fiction Fantasy Short Film Festival.

It is also a major British Columbia crossing area between Vancouver and Victoria, as well as a popular killer whale watching area.

Qwest Field is home of the Seattle Seahawks of the National Football League. It opened in 2002 and was built on the same site as the Seahawks' old stadium, the Kingdome, which was demolished in the largest implosion of a single concrete structure in the world. It is also the home field of the Seattle Sounders of Major League Soccer.

Boundary Marker No. 1 is a historic border marker between the United States and Canada; it is the western-most land border marker between the two countries. It lies on the 49th parallel, the border agreed upon by the United States and Great Britain on June 15, 1846, and the monument was placed here in 1861. From this point westwards, all contiguous American territories are south of the 49th parallel and share no land border with Canada. Unlike other boundary markers, Boundary Marker No. 1 lies mainly on American soil.

The Seattle Center Monorail is a one-mile and two-station monorail system that connects Seattle Center to Westlake Center. It was built for the 1962 World's Fair and currently connects to the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel. Near the line's northern terminus, the trains pass through a specially-designed hole in the Experience Music Project building. The system was designated a historical landmark by the city in 2003.

Point Roberts is one of the few places in the contiguous United States that cannot be reached by land without crossing a customs checkpoint; it is surrounded on three sides by water and one side by Canada. It contains the western-most land border marker in the contiguous United States. After the Fraser River gold rush in the 1850s, Point Roberts was an American military reserve but was never used; it was decommissioned afterwards, allowing for private development. Today, as a result of its geographic anomaly, approximately half of Point Roberts' properties is owned by Canadians (mostly as vacation homes), almost all business there accept Canadian currency as the norm and gasoline is sold in liters rather than gallons.

The Washington State Capitol in Olympia is a collection of buildings, with the primary Legislative Building built in the 1920s. The Legislative Building features the tallest self-supporting masonry dome in the United States and fourth tallest in the world, at 287 feet (87 meters). It also built with the most marble out of any US state capitol building. In the main chamber of the building contains fire pots which make up the largest collection of bronze by Tiffany & Company in the world.
